Neechan
A native iOS client for 2ch and 4chan. Fast, private, and built with SwiftUI and Liquid Glass for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Features Everything an imageboard needs
Neechan is a native app, not a web page in a frame: SwiftUI throughout, Liquid Glass for the navigation, and the system's own text, scrolling and gestures.
Reading
Boards as a catalog or page by page, as a list, cards or a grid. Quote popups, a replies window you can follow down, search in a thread, and your place kept. Translate a post or a whole thread on the device, and like posts on 2ch.
Two imageboards
One switch flips between 2ch and 4chan. Favorites, history and rules stay with the site they came from, and a pasted link opens on the site it names.
Posting
Replies and new threads on 2ch and 4chan, with a markup toolbar, drafts, and attachments stripped of their metadata. 2ch's emoji captcha and 4chan's slider captcha are drawn natively, and 4chan's waits are counted down by its own clock.
Media
A gallery of every attachment and a full-screen viewer with zoom, Live Text and image search. WebM, MKV and MP4 play through FFmpeg at half to double speed, a frame at a time when paused, with a preview as you scrub. A WebM you save becomes an MP4 that Photos accepts.
Doomscroll
A thread's videos as a full-screen vertical feed: one clip per screen, playing on a loop, with the next one already loaded.
Favorites and Watcher
Favorites with unread counts, notifications about new replies, history, pinned boards and the board archive.
Save for offline
Keep a thread with or without its pictures. A saved copy outlives the thread when the board deletes it. Or send every file in it to Photos or a folder in one go.
Autohide
Hide threads and posts by rules, with a live regex tester, on one board or everywhere. Hidden threads fold down to a single line.
Restrictions
One screen decides what the app shows. NSFW mode blurs every thumbnail until you tap it, and boards for adults stay closed behind an 18+ gate.
Themes
Six built-in themes in light and dark, or one of your own made from two colours. Text and thumbnail sizes, and alternate app icons.
iPhone, iPad and Mac
A split view on iPad, the iPad app on Macs with Apple silicon, and support for iPhone Duo. In English, Russian and German.
Private by design
No account, no analytics, no tracking. Everything stays on your device, behind Face ID if you like, and a backup file takes it to a new phone.
Reading Read the way you like
Browse a board as a catalog or page by page, as a list, cards or a grid of thumbnails. In a thread, tap a >> link to see the post it quotes, open the replies window and follow the conversation down, or search the thread like a page.
A post in another language? Translate it, or the whole thread, right on the device: quotes and links stay where they are. On the 2ch boards that count them, you can like and dislike posts too.
Neechan remembers where you stopped, so a thread opens again where you left it.
Themes Make it yours
Amber is the default. Midnight, Graphite, Crimson, Forest and Amethyst come with it, and every theme follows your phone into light or dark.
Or make your own: pick an accent for buttons and links and a colour for quotes, try it on a sample post, and save it.

iPad and Mac Room to spread out
On iPad, Neechan is a split view with your boards, favorites and history in a sidebar. The same app runs on Macs with Apple silicon.

Privacy Your data stays yours
Neechan has no account, no analytics, no crash reporter and no advertising. It talks to the imageboards you read, and to an image search engine only when you send it a picture. Everything it remembers stays on your device.

Neechan is in public beta on TestFlight. Install Apple's free TestFlight app, open the invitation, and Neechan installs like any other app, updates included.
It needs iOS 26 or later on iPhone or iPad. The iPad app also runs on Macs with Apple silicon. Prefer to sideload? Every release also comes as an unsigned .ipa for AltStore or Sideloadly.
